Come with or without a yoga-partner

It is recommended that students attend the entire weekend.

Perfect for intermediate practitioners.

CHRIS LOEBSACK 500hr ERYT and GREG FRANKLIN 200hr RYT combine many years of loving co-teaching, acrobatic partnership and inspired friendship. Together they create an environment for students that bolsters trust and playfulness while cultivating a space to channel the healing power of touch and strength in community. In addition to honing his AcroYoga craft, Greg can be found riding his bicycle around NYC, photographing random wonderful objects, and channeling subtle energies from divine realms of being; Chris shares her love of the human form teaching Anatomy and Physiology for various Yoga Teacher Trainings. You may also find her hanging off the sides of mountains, as rock climbing occupies much of her time. Collectively Greg and Chris have been featured in the New York Times and Yoga City NYC.

AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage,

and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. These three ancient lineages form the foundation of a

unique new practice that cultivates trust, connection and playfulness. Our highest aim is to bring

individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other, and with the divine. From this

place of mutual support the true self can be realized, honored and shared for the benefit of all.

Participants are guided through a combination of:

Circle Ceremony and Asana, Partner Yoga Flow,

Assisted Inversions, Partner Acrobatics,

Flying Sequences integrated with Thai Massage,

and Deep Partner Stretching.

Friday 6pm-8pm
INTRODUCTION TO FLIGHT

Basic techniques will cover the importance of connection, breath and form.

Sat 12:30pm-3:30pm and 4:30pm-6:30pm
ACROYOGA  MAHA  METTA:
The art of compassionate touch

“Love is the most healing energy in the universe.” Deepak Chopra

The Buddhist monks knew this, the Thai masters knew this and AcroYogis know this!

We clear our minds and become present with our breath in preparation to channel the ancient wisdom of Metta –

loving kindness. Thai massage lays the foundation of compassionate touch, receptivity and communication. The techniques

learned on the floor will be taken to the air in the flying work. Flying can be a deeply transformational way to surrender to gravity

and to the support of a partner, allowing unnecessary holdings to be released. We will work in groups of three - base, flyer and spotter - to ensure safety and to encourage teamwork. The dance of giving and receiving will leave everyone in the room floating with gratitude. No partner needed, we ask that you have an intermediate yoga practice and the openness to turning your

world upside down.

Sunday 12:30-3:30
INVERT, INVOLVE, EMPOWER

The Mystery of inversions is no match for the wisdom of acrobatic training techniques!

Students will learn the AcroYoga Asana sequence, which provides tools for
the understanding and embodiment of headstand and shoulderstand (the King and Queen of Asanas),

as well as forearmstand and handstand. After solidifying spotting techniques, we will progress to

Basic Partner Acrobatics and Pyramids, cultivating trust, strength and flexibility while working as a team.

A playful, safe, supportive environment will empower the whole room to be upside down and connect to the divine!
All levels, no partner necessary!

CIRCLE CEREMONY

The circle initiates the ceremonious joining of our yoga community with a flow

of integrated movements. Here we establish connection with those around us and cultivate

our openness to the divine. The circle ceremony sets the tone and theme for our journey together.

ASANA WARM-UP

Asana warms the body and grounds us individually in preparation for partner work.

A mirrored partner asana flow helps to develop concentration, focus, and flexibility.

This is an opportunity to look outside ourselves and open our awareness to the common experience.

PARTNER FLOW

Partner Flow is a creative sequence of mutually beneficial partner asanas and stretches.

Communication, self-acceptance and honesty are the roots of the partner experience.

Central to this practice are trust and compassion, the first two observances of Yoga.

When two become one, we become breath in motion

INVERSIONS

"Only the person who risks is truly free."

Inversions turn our world upside down and bring out our childlike nature.

Inversions force us to summon our courage and let go of fear.

Spotting techniques develop deeper levels of trust,

building the foundation for acrobatic partner skills.

FLYING

"Get the base stable before you fly."

Flying flows can range from gentle, massage-based stretches to more dynamic

balancing or acrobatic sequences. Therapeutic flying utilizes gravity to release and open the flyers'

spine while grounding and empowering the base. This is the nectar of AcroYoga, aka Anti-Gravitational

Spinal Elongation. The gentle kindness of Metta can be transmitted from the base to the flyer.

THAI MASSAGE

"Humble yourself to receive before you can truly give."

Thai Massage is a healing art that combines massage and yoga asana with an emphasis

on "metta"- loving kindness. Once the flyer lands the role of giver and receiver shift.

The flyer can give back to the base the metta that was offered during the flying.

It cultivates the healing capacity of the giver and uses passive yoga stretches to open

energy lines in the receiver. It is a time to honor and express gratitude to our partners.

ALL ABOUT GREG & CHRIS

Greg Franklin has been practicing various forms of yoga, bodywork, and conscious arts for the past 15 years.

After a two-year world traveling sojourn inspired by a hand reader (HH the 14th Dalai Lama) and a backpack

growing mold, he made his way to New York City, where he discovered (among other things) AcroYoga,

a practice he's come to wholeheartedly adore. Obsessed with balancing objects since his best friend in the first

grade taught him to hover a ruler on the edge of his desk, he sees balancing people on his feet -

and teaching others to do so - a natural progression.

Chris Loebsack has been practicing yoga since 1995. She is an accomplished dancer, choreographer and actor,

and has also completed a Bachelors degree in Biology and Theatre. Chris is most well known for her fun,

playful, yet intense teaching style. She believes that a healthy yoga practice should focus on the journey

and not the destination. Chris completed her 200 hr teacher training at Sundari in November of 2003.

Chris continues to study across the U.S. She completed her Restorative Training with Sudha Carolyn Lundeen

at Kripalu in January of 2005 and  most recently has come to find passion through AcroYoga.

Chris completed her AcroYoga training in August of 2006 among the beautiful vineyards of California

under the direction of Jason Nemar and Jenny Sauer-Klien. She finished her 500hr Teacher Training

with Dharma Mittra in NYC in October 2006 and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as a 500hr ERYT.

Her workshops and weekend intensives have ranged from teaching Yoga on the Ball, Ashtanga Yoga,

Yoga for Athletes, Chakra Yoga, Restorative, Bhanda Core Strength Yoga, and of course her favorite ACROYOGA!

Outside of yoga Chris enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.

You are likely to find her and Michael Febbo (her life love extraordinaire) hanging off

the side of a mountain. Rock climbing occupies much of their time.
